Summary: Small collection of postcards, photographs and two manuscripts by Leota Larson. The postcards are communications to and from Leota and her son, John, while he was serving in the Army in 1942; many postcards have Reg Manning cartoon images. The manuscripts concern a family fishing trip to Oak Creek Canyon, Arizona, and a visitor's arrival to Tombstone, Arizona. There are five small photographs of unidentified women.

Editorial cartoonist Reginald West Manning was born in Kansas City, Missouri in 1905. He moved with his widowed mother to Phoenix in 1919 and began work with the Arizona Republic in 1926, handling all their photography and art work. Manning became an editorial cartoonist on July 17, 1934. Manning was initially known for his feature cartoon page, The Big Parade, in the Arizona Republic . Biographical note: Leota A. Larson lived in Tombstone and Douglas, Arizona about 1942. She was married to E. J. Larson and they had a son, John H. Larson who served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. She wrote short stories, which she provided to the Artists' and Literary Agency in New York for consideration.
